Google akhirnya merilis browser yang bernama Google Chrome … tapi masih dalam versi beta. Lalu apa bedanya Chrome dengan browser-browser lain seperti Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Apple Safari dll? Jawaban singkat: It’s Google. 

Chrome merupakan browser yang cukup unik, setiap tab akan mempunyai proses sendiri. Jadi apabila ada satu tab yang hang, maka tab yang lain tidak akan terpengaruh dan tetap berjalan normal.

Chrome juga mempunyai engine JavaScript yang baru yaitu V8. Engine mempunyai metode yang berbeda untuk menjalankan JavaScript. Alih-alih menjalankan script, V8 akan meng-compile terlebih dahulu script-nya lalu menjalankannya.  Cara ini akan membuat JavaScript berjalan lebih cepat.

Untuk membaca fitur lengkapnya, bisa diakses di penjelasan Google dalam bentuk komik. Tapi sayangnya Chrome baru tersedia untuk Windows, untuk meng-compile versi Linux-nya bisa mengikuti petunjuk developer-nya
